An hour-long journey between Vijayawada and Amaravati, could well become a six minute affair thanks to the agreement signed by Andhra Pradesh government with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT). Under the agreement, HTT will develop a Hyperloop transportation route between the cities of Amaravati and Vijaywada, reducing the one-hour trip to as little as just six minutes, if successful. The agreement will employ a public private partnership model funded primarily from private sources to fund its construction.
Scientists have developed an artificial leaf that absorbs sunlight to generate hydrogen fuel from water, an advance that may provide clean energy for powering eco-friendly cars in the future. The ultra-thin wireless device mimics plant leaves to produce energy using water and sunlight. It is known that hydrogen generation from renewable resources will be the ultimate solution to our energy and environment problems.
India and Sri Lanka begin Joint Naval Exercise SLINEX 2017 at Visakhapatnam : Indian Navy and Sri Lankan Navy on 7 September 2017 began the 2017 Sri Lanka-India Exercise (SLINEX) at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The exercise will conclude on till 14 September 2017.

- SLINEX series of bilateral maritime exercises was initiated in 2005 and since then four successful engagements have been conducted.
- SLINEX aims to promote mutual understanding and provide exposure to both the Navies to each others’ operating procedures, communication procedures and best practices.
- This allows the two navies to develop greater confidence to operate together during complex maritime missions.
Sebi imposes Rs 2,423 cr fine on PACL, 4 directors :
Regulator Sebi today imposed Rs 2,423 crore fine on PACL Ltd and its four directors for illegal fund mobilisation through various schemes that were used by the group to garner over Rs 49,000 crore from the public. While the group, which had collected money in the name of real estate projects among other schemes, was asked by Sebi nearly three years ago to refund Rs 49,100 crore to the investors, the regulator has passed a fresh order to impose a monetary penalty for violation of SEBIs Prevention of Fraudulent and Unfair Trade Practices Regulations.
Sarojini Agarwal to be honoured with Neerja Bhanot Award today :
For helping over 700 destitute girls stand on their feet, Sarojini Agarwal to be honoured with Neerja Bhanot Award today. The Neerja Bhanot Award, instituted in the memory of senior flight purser, Neerja Bhanot, who saved hundreds of lives while sacrificing her own, will be conferred to Dr Sarojini Agarwal, this year. The winner is presented with a sum of Rs 1,50,000, a citation and a trophy. The criteria is that the awardee must be an Indian woman who when subjected to social injustice, faces the situation, overcomes it and then helps others in distress.
