1. Ranchi will be the first Greenfield Smart City of the country:
Vice-President M. VenkaiahVenkaiah Naidu lays foundation for smart city project in Ranchi. “Ranchi will be the first Greenfield Smart City of the country where IT, beauty, duty and security everything will be available and so Ranchi Smart City will not only be a lighthouse for Jharkhand but it will be a lighthouse for the entire country,” the vice president said.
2. Bharat Petroleum Corporation(BPCL) is all set to become a Maharatna company.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Coal India Limited, GAIL (India) Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, NTPC Limited, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited, Steel Authority of India Limited, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(BPCL).
3. 10-year-old Cases to almost Zero in 4 States & 1 UT for the 1st time ever:
Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and Chandigarh have achieved almost nil pendency of 10 Year old Cases. Its for the 1st time that as many as 4 states & a UT have managed to bring down cases pending for over 10 years in their subordinate Courts to almost 0. It isn’t a mean achievement, considering that 10 years old cases in India account for 23 lakh or almost 9% of all cases pending in subordinate courts.
4. US Open final 2017:
Rafa Nadal wins 16th grand slam to complete a Nadal-Federer 2017 clean sweep. Rafael Nadal restored order to this eccentric US Open last night, easing to a comfortable 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 victory over giant South African Kevin Anderson on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

5. Infosys to Acquire Digital Innovation and Customer Experience Studio, Brilliant Basics:

6. Harendra Singh appointed Indian women's hockey coach:
In a surprising move, women's national hockey coach Sjoerd Marijne was on Friday named chief coach of the men's side, replacing the sacked Roelant Oltmans. World Cup-winning junior team coach Harendra Singh was appointed High Performance Specialist coach of the senior women's team.
