1. Las Vegas concert massacre toll reaches 59 :

The death toll from the mass shooting at a Las Vegas country music concert has increased to 59, while 527 others were injured.
Stephen Paddock, 64, opened fire with automatic weapons on some 22,000 people at the Route 91 Harvest concert from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on Sunday at around 10.30 p.m. Paddock killed himself as special response team officers broke into the hotel room, police said.

2. Government launches wildlife action plan for next 15 years :

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Harsh Vardhan on Friday said the government will make new national wildlife action plan for next 15 years, for conservation and management of wildlife and swachh wildlife habitat. Addressing mediapersons here, Dr Vardhan said, "On October 2, 2017 we will be launching the National Wildlife Action Plan for the period from 2017 to 2031.
The GWP 2017 is organised jointly by the government in partnership with World Bank and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) this year from October 2, 2017 coinciding with ‘Wildlife Week’.

3. IndianOil receives first crude oil cargo from the US:

Indian Oil Corp. (IndianOil) on Monday said it has received its first US crude oil cargo of 1.6 million barrels. According to the company, it received the shipment at Paradip port in Odisha.
A Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), of capacity 2 million barrels of crude, left US Gulf Coast on 19th August and arrived at Paradip port today,” the company said in a statement. “IndianOil will process the crude at its east-coast base refineries, located at Paradip, Haldia, Barauni and Bongaigaon.”
IndianOil has placed a cumulative order of 3.9 million barrels from the US.

4. Saudi Arabia plans to increase capacity of Mecca’s Grand Mosque:
Saudi Arabia on Monday announced a plan to launch a company to increase the capacity of the Grand Mosque in Mecca to accommodate pilgrims who are expected to reach more than 30 million by 2030. 
The Public Investment Fund announced in a statement on Saudi Press Agency the launch of Rou'a Al Haram company to develop areas around the holy sites of Mecca and raise the quality of services in the local hospitality sector. 
The projects will create around 160,000 job opportunities by 2030, with an estimated annual contribution to GDP of $2.1 billion, Xinhua news agency reported. The first phase of the company's projects will cover an area of 854,000 square metres, delivering 115 buildings of various architectural designs.

5. India loses 6% GDP annually due to unsanitary conditions:

The lack of sanitary conditions in India has a serious economic consequence too as it causes a loss of 6 per cent of the GDP every year, said Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu.
In his address at the ‘Safaigiri Awards’ function organised by the India Today Group on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Naidu said that the situation is very serious as facts stand as every family loses approximately Rs 50,000 every year due to unsanitary conditions.
