1. Korea Open Super Series:

PV Sindhu became the first Indian badminton player to lift the title in Korea after she beat Nozomi Okuhara in the women’s singles final at Korea Open Superseries in Seoul on Sunday. This was her third Super Series title and second this year. In a rematch of the World Championships final which was won by Okuhara, Sindhu avenged her loss from Glasgow and won the Korea Open Superseries final 22-20 11-21 21-18 and claimed the title.


2. After Maharashtra & UP, Rajasthan becomes 3rd BJP state to waive farm loans:
Rajasthan announced a Rs 20,000 crore farm-loan waiver on September 14, 2017, making it the fourth Indian state–and the third with a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government–to waive agricultural loans in 2017. Uttar Pradesh waived Rs 36,359 crore in April 2017, Maharashtra waived Rs 30,000 crore in June 2017, while Congress-ruled Punjab announced a waiver amounting to Rs 20,500 crore in June 2017.

3. Google launches India mobile payments app Tez:

Google is launching the app at an event in Delhi where Caesar Sengupta, the company’s VP for Next Billion Users will be present. The Ministry of Finance has also confirmed that Finance Minister Arun Jaitely will also attend the official launch.
Tez has already gone live on Google’s Play Store, and Apple’s App Store on iOS as well. Google’s Tez is based on UPI platform, which stands for United Payments Interface and has been made by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). UPI allows for easy transfer for payments within bank accounts. With UPI, a user can just rely on the mobile number of the VPA (Virtual Payment Address) to make a payment straight to the bank account, rather than requiring the full bank account number, IFSC code, etc as is needed in most cases

4. India’s Forex reserves cross $400 billion for the first time on asset surge:
India’s foreign exchange reserves topped the $400 billion mark for the first time to hit an all-time high of $400.726 billion on September 8, aided by a sharp rise in foreign currency assets, mainly huge inflows through foreign direct investments in projects and portfolio investment.
India is now in the sixth position in forex reserves ranking, ahead of Taiwan, Brazil and euro zone. But China is way ahead topping the table with reserves of $3,053 billion. Japan is in the second position with reserves of $1,188 billion, followed by Switzerland with $743 billion.

5. Rajamouli to receive the ANR National Award for 2017:

Nagarjuna shared on social media that director of Baahubali series, SS Rajamouli will be bestowed with the Akkineni Nageswara Rao Award 2017. Celebrated director SS Rajamouli has been announced as the recipient of the Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) National Award for 2017. This year, the annual awards instituted by the Akkineni International Foundation, will coincide with the convocation of the students of Annapurna International School of Film & Media (AISFM). The grand event will take place on September 17th, 2017 at Shilpa Kala Vedika, with the award being given away by the Hon’ble Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu, and Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The ANR Award has been bestowed on stalwarts like Dev Anand, Shabana Azmi, Anjali Devi, Vyjayanatimala Bali, Lata Mangeshkar, K. Balachander, Hema Malini, Shyam Benegal and Amitabh Bachchan.

6. PM Narendra Modi’s birthday to be observed as ‘Seva Diwas’ nationwide: 

All ministers and other party leaders will attend the events nationwide, a party leader said. PM Modi will on Sunday dedicate to the nation the Sardar Sarovar Dam in Gujarat on river Narmada, at an event coinciding with his 67th birthday.
The Centre will observe 'Seva Diwas' (Day of Service) on September 17 and carry out a range of activities including building twin pit toilets, 'shramdaan' or voluntary work, and sanitation drives.
